Subject: drift into
Пожалуйста, помогите перевести.
Выражение встречается в следующем контексте:
The horse was lean and lank
Misfortune seemed his lot;
He got into a drifted bank
And we, we got up sot

меня интересует как по- русски будет звучать это выражение - drift into
Заранее спасибо

ИМХО

A day or two ago, I thought I'd take a ride
And soon Miss Fanny Bright, was seated by my side;
The horse was lean and lank, misfortune seemed his lot;
He got into a drifted bank and we got upsot

drifted bank = Where the snow is deepest is called "a bank". Usually, it's called "a snow bank" or "a bank of snow". However, it can also be called "a snow drift". "Drifted" merely means "blown by the wind".

"we got upsot" = The sleigh had an accident; it overturned.
