Иногда замена инфинитива на герундий меняет смысл. Как нас еще в инязе учили: He stopped looking. |

мы же говорим про like? |
Slava - As a native English-speaker, I would never say "He stopped to look" as a whole sentence, it only means the speaker is not native. UNLESS it is part of a longer structure in which what he is doing and what he is going to look at have already been stated: "He was walking home and saw men building a house. He stopped to look." Soffia - So the correct form for a whole sentence is "He stopped playing with toys, friends". |
I mean, "I like playing with toys and friends" (!) |

so, I like to play is not correct? |
fianlamb: right, you would never say "He stopped to look" as a whole sentence, but I just quoted this as a textbook example for students of English who are not native English-speakers. :-) |
Dear Fianlamb, thank you for your answer. If you don't mind, make it clear for me again. Do you mean that I should better say: I like playing with dolls. I like playing with friends. I like playing hide-and-seek. I like sledging etc and not: |
