Not being a legal expert, I'd not heard of 'apostille' before -- but it looks as though it isn't just a proper noun; it's a valid legal term (noun) which they've incorporated into their name. Wikipedia gives the Russian as just апостиль (masc.): |

Alex16 +1 'Apostille legalisation' = 'апостилирование', apparently -- as in: I'm not a legal expert, though. |
Это не название фирмы. |
Спасибо большое! |

Aprilmoon: If it's not a firm name, why are all of the words in it capitalised -- or have you capitalised them yourself? Is it a heading/sub-heading in a document or list? Please explain what you mean by "[Это] название". |
"I'd not heard of 'apostille' before" - is the pope catholic? услуги по апостилированию и легализации (документов) |
Разве только названия фирм с больших букв пишутся. На процитированном сайте (организация, кстати, по-другому называется: Apostille Service, а не Apostille Legalisation Services) даже Visit Our Order Page с больших, но это же не название фирмы. Вот памятка (см. первый столбец): https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/249820/Legalisation_Office-Guidance-Leaflet__1_.pdf |
In Russia, we have a number, even though limited, of governmental bodies (Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Education, civil registry offices, courts) that apostillise documents. Unlike Russia, UK has only one such governmental body (Legalisation Office). However both in Russia and UK, private companies may apply for apostille on their clients' behalf. |

AsIs 0:41: ** Разве только ...... но это же не название фирмы ** No, not at all -- but words aren't normally capitalised in cases like this if they just describe an organisation. They're more likely to be capitalised if they're part of its name or are in a header/sub-header/title in a document, or in certain other cases. That's why I'm wondering what exactly the asker means by 'название'. |
Seconded. If he/she stated "Это не название фирмы", why not continue with what it really is. Agree. === Btw, regarding the is the pope catholic? comment. Some years ago a 42-year old British citizen came to my empoyer's office and asked for [apo-stYle]. He learnt this pronunciation from his Russian girlfriend because he (and she either, I guess) had never heard of apostille before he got involved with her :) Not a unique situation at all. I know many linguists who can hardly explain what apostille is. Not worthy of such comment. |

Судя по другим вопросам аскера, его текст составлен на английском не самым грамотным немцем, в немецком же существительные пишутся с большой буквы, поэтому сабж вполне может быть названием (документа, раздела и т.п.), что совсем не обязательно равно фирменному наименованию |

AsIs: I didn't really understand how toast2's 'pope' joke tied in with my comment. Hopefully he'll tell us, though, as I'm sure it's hilarious! Presumably he's saying the meaning's obvious. No, I'd never heard of 'apostille' before. I've heard of 'a pastille', though. So it's obviously something to do with eating sugary sweets..... :-)
