| It could mean that, if (say) a patient gets a four-week prescription but asks for another four weeks' supply after just two weeks. Perfectly possible. It depends on the context -- what comes before this paragraph. |

Yes, crockodile's right, because if you look at the text before this, http://www.nhi.gov.tw/english/webdata/webdata.aspx?menu=11&menu_id=590&WD_ID=590&webdata_id=4921 it's about helping doctors to avoid over-prescribing drugs to patients. So 'left' means 'remaining'. |

Вы не совсем правы, ребята. Не врачу надо, а страховой компании. И если по их расчетам у пациента должно быть еще 10 таблеток на следующие 10 дней, они просто не оплатят следующую партию на месяц, пока у пациента не останется 2-3 таблетки (тоже по расчетам). Поэтому: calculation of the number of days of medicine that should be left for each prescription расчет количества дней на которые у пациента имеется в запасе лекарства. Или что-то покрасившее. |

| I'm sure your translation's right -- but NHI is Taiwan's state-run healthcare system rather than private health insurance. The information's for doctors and pharmacists -- see my link. That's a detail, though. |

johnstephenson, i do not disagree with that. Many parties may have interest in calculating. But the point is, they all need to know how many pills are remaining at home, not how many days are left to finish medications. |
