decorative cornice (FYI, most of the architectural add-ons on the newer builds are Styrofoam. The faux Tudor accents, the gable ends, all kinds of things you see on the exterior of houses are lightweight, easy to glue on, Styrofoam. The decorative cornice on our 1920s building is Styrofoam. Not sure when it was updated to that material but it looks really good -- or it did till the Northern Flickers began excavating into it to build nests.
