Muscle & Nerve, 24(11), 1476–1481.: Ammendola et al. compared alcoholics with and without neuropathy to identify risk factors this study showed an increased duration of alcoholism amongst those with neuropathy as well as a higher total lifetime dose of ethanol (TLDE) (n = 76) [6]. It also identified an inverse relationship between TLDE and duration of alcoholism and sural nerve SEP amplitude.
