termination date (1. In business, the date when an employee loses their job and may no longer work in that position. 2. The date when something is terminated. For example, in investing, swap contracts have a termination date which is the date the contract is no longer valid. In the housing market, a lease or mortgage can have a termination date. Also called expiration date. BD. The date on which a contract is canceled. This may apply to any contract, whether for employment, construction or anything else. Sometimes notice must be given prior to the termination date, depending on the terms of the contract.
