A force with the capability of executing extraction operations by ground, sea or air. The extraction operation could be undertaken in a permissive, non-permissive or uncertain environment. Extraction operations cover a wide spectrum of activities including medical evacuation, counter-hostage-taking, evacuation support and rescue from a specific geographic location of NATO and/or non-NATO forces or personnel.
