Language Selection Tips

At first login, input and output languages are not yet selected.

You can simply type a word or phrase into the search bar without manually selecting a language. If the word or phrase is displayed in the drop-down list, simply select it. If the match is found in more than one language, you'll be invited to choose the one you need. Then you'll need to do the same for the output language.

While on the home screen, a desired dictionary can be selected:

  • from the 'Popular dictionaries' section, or;
  • by manually selecting an input and output languages from the pair of dropdown lists. These will list about 30 most popular languages. To browse all available languages, click "All languages" at the bottom of the page.

Clicking on a language name will take you to the list of dictionaries with this language. This list is sortable by name or entry count.

You can swith between languages without leaving the page you were on. To change the input language, just type a word in any language in the search bar and hit Search, ignoring that the word is missing in the alphabetic list. Chances are high that the site engine will suggest a proper language.

A different output language can be selected from the drop-down list to the right of the search box, if available.
