Bid Tabs(The technical bid evaluation, commonly called the "bid tab," is the formal review by the mechanical engineer of the vendor bids from which he will make a decision as to which vendor best meets the project specifications for the particular piece of equipment. In addition, the recommended vendor must be the most economical for the service and meet delivery requirements. The procedures for the formal technical bid evaluation are: 1. A preliminary review of the quotations as they are released, 2. A pricing and technical tabulation, 3. Designation of the apparent low bidder, 4. Conditioning of the vendors offerings to put them in agreement with all terms/ conditions (generally confined to the lowest bid or the two lowest bids). ixtra)
