Subject: to free???
Matlab: "You can use the save and load functions in conjunction with the quit command to free memory". |

RE >>имея большой опыт переводов с английского, убеждена, что правильно говорить be free или make free, что сказать freed - это дико коряво...>> Live and learn - это во-первых.

Supa Traslata,
Думаю, поиск по British National Corpus (http://www.natcorp.ox.ac.uk/) спасет отца демократии :) Например: "REAL firemen freed Joe Grey, four, after he stuck his head between railings at Scunthorpe, Humberside, because he wanted to be rescued by TV's Fireman Sam". The Daily Mirror. London, 1992 |

segu Благодарю! Supa Traslata |

=О http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/free |
Big Bang
Dixi |
That simple. |
да вот, например, статья в OED (отдельная статья для глагола free) (friː) Pa. tense and pa. pple. freed. Make smb. free - приводить в состояние, обозначенное последующим прилагательным - освободить кого-либо To be free - быть, являться свободным To free smb. - освобождать кого-либо Чаще в американском варианте мы слышим to free и to be free. Освободить кого-то из тюрьмы - to release from jail. Он воскликнул: "I'm free. I'm free."
