Subject: re: first floor Hello,I'd be grateful for help with a translation of a real estate document that I'm doing. I'm doing it in UK English. I just wanted to check - in Russian, they start counting the floors of a building from 1 onwards, and not the "ground floor" (=1st floor in USA) and then the first floor, etc. Is that correct? Could someone clarify it for me? Many thanks in advance. Saj |
= 1st floor in USA. |
Sorry, I still don't understand. So in my Russian text when I read "first floor" in Russian, how should I translate into UK English? The ground floor or the first floor? |

we start counting later, but it depend on what you mean under the ground floor |
in Russian the first floor is that at ground level |
русский первый этаж = British ground floor |
Ok, I see. Thanks very much everyone. |
