Весь абзац про остаточные опухоли при раке яичка:
The rationale for residual tumour resection (RTR) is to remove persistent retroperitoneal lymph nodes that may contain necrosis/fibrosis in about 30–40%, mature teratoma in approximately 30–40%, and vital cancer in about 10–20% of the patients. Although RTR is a routine surgical intervention in experienced centres, its associated treatment might be substantial because RTR will require additional surgical procedures of adjacent organs in about 25% of the cases. Furthermore, the surgical procedure will be without significant therapeutic options and prognostic factors for young men who harbour necrosis/fibrosis only.

Может быть имеется в виду, что "операция не имеет существенного лечебного значения и не влияет на прогноз у молодых людей, у которых имеются только некротические/воспалительные изменения"?

Конечно, перевод несколько вольный, но зато появляется смысл, ИМХО.
