Subject: "Depot legal" (depositary copy)
Всем добрый день!

Подскажите, пожалуйста, что это такое (сабж) в издательском договоре:

No royalties shall be paid on any copy intended for "depot legal" (depositary copy) or any specimen copy.

dépôt légal - is the special ruling.... please see below

In France the dépôt légal requires that one or more copies of all printed matter "publicly sold or distributed" be deposited in the National Library. In France prints have been subjected to the dépôt légal ever since the reign of Francis I. This ruling was then confirmed and reinforced by Louis XlV.

Dear Anatalka, I am sorry, I did not realize that you asked to translate this phrase (I thought you need the explanation of the term - my mistake. I can suggest the following:

Авторский гонорар не будет выплачиваться ни за любые копии dépôt légal, предназначенные для хранения (депонируемый экземпляр, ни за пробные копии/экземпляры (книги, публикации....)
