They say much of blood and bloom, and of others which I comprehend not, though I guess what they mean. But nevertheless they tell us all things which we want to know. |

Ok, I assume it's meant to be written in pidgin. He meets the group and is friendly and helpful to them = good fellow Quincey gives him a present = he becomes even friendlier = still better fellow ('still' meaning 'even' here); ie he treats us even better than before, acting like a humble servant. |
