Выражение встречается в следующем контексте: Each professor, in the course outline and during the first class meeting, shall state that students are required to adhere to the Standards of Scholarship and state any additional standards of conduct for the course.

STANDARDS OF SCHOLARSHIP

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(1) Students are expected to maintain satisfactory progress toward a degree. A student's graduate record begins with the first course credited to the degree and includes all subsequent courses.

(2) No more than two grades, or a maximum of eight semester hours of less than "B" quality, may be earned in courses taken after acceptance into a graduate program. An average of "B" (3.0 GPA) is required for graduation.

(3) No candidate may be graduated with an incomplete "I" or a no record "NR" on his or her transcript.

(4) No student may receive more than one grade of "F" in courses taken after acceptance into the graduate program.

(5) The candidate must pass the comprehensive examination in no more than two attempts.
