Subject: вторая половинка
Не могу найти точное соответствие фразы "вторая половинка". В английском вообще есть такое понятие. Помогите, кто знает!

significant other doesnt have the same connotations ... your other half is your fate
your significant other - maybe you dont even love them even though there is a relationship. maybe you are unhappy with them

but your soul mate/other half - that's the love of your life, the one and only and you are always happy in a relationship with them. cynics say they dont exist

No one has mentioned that out of respect one might refer to the "other half" as the "better half".

Maybe, "the complementary half" will also suit... (Earlier, I came across the word combination in some texts).
