"metre" is British, naturally.

* NOTE: Imho, if you use "apartments," then you should use "metERrs", or, even convert the number into square feet, since you would be writing for Americans.

If you are using "flats", you are most definitely, not writing for Americans. Therefore, I would use the Brittish spelling all throughout.
