обчно стэнд-бай - это когда подрядчик / "оказыватель услуг" :-) и т.п. не выполняет собственно работы, но находится "на дежурстве, на приколе", на случай, если вдруг жахнет и он понадобится Заказчику.

В ООН, например, - когда синхронист "на стендбае" (а узнаёт он об этом накануне, прослушивая программу следующего дня по телефону-автомату), это значит, что он должен не приходить в ООН, но находиться в пределах телефонной досягаемости и не более чем 30-минутной готовности прибыть на работу.

так вот, похоже, в Вашем тексте за день стендбая ему платят такие-то вот ставки.

Recording Crew (3-D) excluding dozing crew

Dozing crews

Except as expressly provided otherwise, the Standby Rates shall only apply under the following conditions:

2.6.1 COMPANY requested crew standby, except when CONTRACTOR’S equipment is not meeting specifications.

2.6.2 Lack of COMPANY provided program.

2.6.3 Local Government mandated shutdown, force majeure events and cases and other acts not attributable to fault of CONTRACTOR.

2.6.4 Weather Days . The Standby Rate for Weather (herein so called) shall apply under the following conditions:

Weather Days are defined as periods when the recording crew is unable to work for one (1) hour or more, during daylight hours within an operational day, due to climatic conditions such as heavy rains, high wind or flooding but excluding static induced noise within the seismic instrumentation.
