Consequently, three major sedimentation cycles are deposited:
•the Presaliferous Sequence, containing Paleozoic sediments of ages ranging between Riphean and Artinskian. In the marginal areas, during Upper Devonian-Upper Carboniferous, thick carbonate sequences were deposited and reef masses developed;

•the Evaporitic (saliferous) Sequence of Kungurian age, contains, besides characteristic rocks (native salt, anhydrites, etc.), terrigenous rock intercalations.

•the Postsaliferous Sequence contains deposits of the upper Permian, Triassic, Jurassic,Cretaceous, Paleogene, Neogene and Quaternary.
