Subject: stick um up! Пожалуйста, помогите перевести.Выражение встречается в следующем контексте: мужчина высунулся в окно со стороны водителя, сделал жест. показывая. что у него есть оружие. и сказал: "stick um up!" руки вверх? Заранее спасибо |

gogolesque, it's like "reach for the sky", right? in russian there exists a slangish "руки в гору", usually used by cops. |

dimking "reach for the sky" means to go for the best you can get, for the farthest you can get, to set your goals high/real high and go for it! try not to confuse these in the future. if your boss tells you to reach for the sky and you put your hands up like you are being arrested, it will look like you are insane :) |

Во вчерашней серии Lost этот оборот употребляется именно в смысле "Руки вверх!". [а было бы забавно - приезжает одноименная российская группа на Запад и выступает под названием Stick 'em Up! точно за рэпперов примут :=))] |
