К слову, в приведенном примере Оззи и Хэви Метал заменяют имена собственные, остальное все как есть...

Как сейчас указывают - Бакалавриат по Музыке?... Магистр Тонких Искусств?.. или оставляем в оригинале?...

Допустим:

Оззи Осборн

Профессиональный Диплом Королевской Музыкальной Консерватории

Бакалавр Музыки

Магистр Тонких Искусств

(Магистр Искусств - можно опустить как сводное повторение)

Художественный Директор, Такая-то Музыкальная Консерватория

* that it refers to Canada -- as ARCT (for example) isn't used in the US or UK;

* that it's the Royal Conservatory of Music (sometimes shortened to just the Royal Conservatory) in Toronto; and

* that ARCT = Associate of the Royal Conservatory [of Music], Toronto.

If you can't decide whether to leave them in English or translate them, why not show both with (say) the Russian translation first and the English abbreviation in brackets afterwards, eg:

* Магистр изящных искусств (MFA)

* Магистр искусств (MA)

etc?

i-tiger2018: That's probably just as good. I think the important thing is to show the original English in each case and then translate it into Russian as accurately as possible. That way, the Russian customer will have all the information he/she needs.

These are truly very valuable notations, John - much appreciated. I particularly like the offered translation/abbreviation option. I may swap them to fit the cognizance of the target audience, but it should work in my opinion.

As a TS I was looking more for the insight of the professionals working in the Russian speaking market and hopefully having come across something like this in their ventures...
