Pre-trial visits risk the host losing the opportunity to use the location in the future. Even when a location is public property, the NACSW does not condone practice at the trial location within 6 months of the trial date. The purpose of a K9 Nose Work® trial is for a dog to walk into a novel situation and search. Additionally, practice at the trial site will result in contamination that may adversely affect the competition. Unauthorized visits to or contact with the location prior to the trial may be subject to disciplinary action.

10-4 +1 Here, 'within 6 months of' means 'during the 6 months before the [dog] trial date', because they're talking about pre-trial visits, ie visits by dogs before a competition (trial) takes place. In other contexts -- but not this one -- it can mean 'during the 6 months after', or 'during the 6 months before or after'. PS: You could have told people that NACSW = National Association of Canine Scent Work. |

это ошибочное употребление within... of -- с точностью до наоборот. within... of значит после. но в данном случае авторы текста имели в виду до. и не забывайте указывать в теме полную искомую фразу, а она включает в себя within. |
