Amor @ 18:12 +1 – but.... 'affords' isn't really bad English here; it's pompous English for 'provides'/'gives', and is sometimes used by advertisers to mean this. Estate agents, in particular, use it quite often to describe houses/flats they're advertising, eg: 'This apartment affords stunning vistas of the surrounding countryside' = 'This flat provides very good views of the surrounding countryside' in 'normal' English. The general sense is 'обеспечивает', as you say. |
