Subject: Customer reach today is a lot of push and now it will be pull. gen.

After studying digital banking platforms in other countries (for example, Czech Airbank and Activo Bank in Portugal), Djemi Suhenda, deputy president director of BTPN, said “BTPN WOW! has the potential to transform the bank as well as bring more of Indonesia’s unbanked into the formal financial system.
Customer reach today is a lot of push and now it will be pull.

He's using colloquial English. It isn't a set expression and the meaning isn't 100% clear, but I suspect that:

* by 'push[ing]' he means that at present, it requires a lot of effort on the part of the bank to recruit new customers and then keep in contact with them -- as if pushing a vehicle with no petrol along a road;

and that
* by 'pull[ing]' he means that in future it will be easier for the bank to attract new customers and keep in contact with them, than it is now (perhaps because people will be able to access the bank and their accounts online?)

So people will come to the bank rather than the bank having to go to them.

That's my inspired guess, anyway.

I do not think so. If the program is designed to engage poor people, than before they were pushing them away from the bank, now they are going to pull them to get into the bank.

people will come to the bank rather than the bank having to go to them.

Amor 71 -- Hmm.... If so, I think he'd say something like 'pushing away' rather than just 'push' or even 'pushing'. And would he say 'CUSTOMER REACH is a lot of push'? Wouldn't he say something more like 'WE'VE BEEN DOING a lot of pushing (away), now it will be pulling'?

'A lot of push' usually suggests 'a lot of effort' -- as in 'Our son's very lazy. Getting him to do anything requires a lot of push on our part'. That doesn't necessarily mean that this is how he's using it, of course.

It's just inspired guesswork by me, though, as we don't know the full context, nor how good his English is. All we know is that he seems to be using non-standard English.

Excellent! Hero of the Soviet Union, Distinguished Service Order with bar, and Indonesian Elephant Badge (1st Class) all coming your way, Amor!

I was going to say that perhaps it's a financial term, in which case I had no idea what it meant. Wrong again. So it's a marketing term.... I've even been looking up this director chappy on Google and YouTube to see what his English was like!

Definitely 10/10 for that. Can I have your autograph please...?

Sorry, there is a long waiting list for my autograph. You are after натрикс.

Ha ha! I don't know what the Elephant Badge looks like, I've only just invented it! This is the DSO with bar(s), though:

///I don't know what the Elephant Badge looks like///

I really don't care how it looks like as soon as it is not made of this:

...bring more of Indonesia’s unbanked into the formal financial system подтверждает это.
