Logic would dictate that more 4x4s for support means a stronger fence (right?). I'm fairly certain the old man is arguing with me simply because he hired a guy to build his and it was built with 10' spans between posts...and my guess is he paid through the nose for it. My proposed fence is only 232 linear feet. I had a local contractor quote me $3,850 for T&M (built on 10' centers). I can buy the materials (concrete, posts,pickets,screws,gate hardware)with nearly twice as many posts (6' centers) for roughly $1,450 and do it myself. |
