Subject: "Sides", "mighty small potatoes" gen.

Здравствуйте! Перевожу главу из книги о джазе.
Может быть кто-то подскажет, как правильно перевести одно слово и одно устойчивое выражение?

1) sides
"Pollack band cut three sides for Victor. These first Pollack sides were never issued"

2) mighty small potatoes
"Against the twelve-piece orchestra playing flashy arrangements with well-oiled precision, the improvising five-piece jazz-band looked like mighty small potatoes"

mighty small potatoes = anything of no great worth = абсолютно ничего примечательного

а не наоборот? значение insignificant у small potatoes - без mighty. а раз тут оно появилось, то чтобы показать, что small potatoes can be mighty. и значение какое-нибудь вроде могучей кучки.
контекста нужно побольше, чтобы понять, критикуют или восхищаются

in ironic sense may be but "mighty" usually means "very"
