Subject: bed linen или bed clothes Вопрос таков. В русском языке есть точный термин - постельное белье. Каков его английский аналог? Варианты bed linen, bedding, bed clothes, bed set. Что является наиболее близким эквивалетом? Перевожу статьи для сайта, хочется задавать поиск статей на английском корректно. Заранее спасибо за помощь!

| «Bed set» – это комплект постельного белья, а не постельное белье как таковое. Вариант «bedding» имеет много посторонних значений. Термины «bedclothes» (чаще это слово пишется слитно) и «bed linen» не совсем синонимичны (в первое понятие помимо постельного белья входят также и одеяла), поэтому выбор зависит от ассортимента: если там продаются одеяла, то пишите «bedclothes», а если нет, то «bed linen». |

еще комплект постельного белья называют sheet set (как правило, они включают две простыни (одна из которых с резинкой - fitted sheet) и две наволочки. bed linen и bedclothes вообще не видела. А bedding - это скорее (если речь идет о магазине, например) называние отдела, в котором продаются подушки, одеяла, покрывала, постельное белье и т.п. |

There are bedding sets constructed with a wide range of thread counts. Generally, the lowest count available is a 200 thread count. Sheets with this type of construction are more likely to be rougher, thinner and less likely to hold up to repeated use. The lower thread count also means the sheets will cost significantly less. When money is tight, going with a lower thread count may be the only option. By contrast, a sheet set thread count that is 400 or more is much more durable and generally much softer to the touch. Bedding sets with a higher thread count will also cost more. However, they will last much longer than sets with low thread counts and over time may outlast two or even three sets with a 200 thread count.
