Subject: ломать психику Подскажите, пожалуйста, с переводом этой фразы. И подходит ли варианты "damage someone's psyche"?

| ага .... мне вот представляется "to break somebody", но неужели ж можно поручиться что оно во всех случаях работает? ... да и ввернуть его надо правильно. так что - контекст! (+1) |

| to break one's spirit(s) - в значении "надломить волю"... но не вижу контекста - вдруг речь о психоанализе, а психоаналитику во всякие там spirit(s) верить по долгу службы не обязательно :-) |

Thanks very much for all the suggestions given above. But here's the sitch: 10-year-old child who's been living for the last 4 years with his grandmother that doesn't let his mother see him for reasons unknown. All that might affect the kid and (the phrase I'm looking for)... |
