Subject: Сотка в смысле надел земли Народ, как по вашему будет сотка в таком контексте, только не смейтесь :)) ситация реальная.при осмотре местности была обнаружена ухоженная плантация конопли (примерно 10 соток)?? :) |

| i would say, "approximately one quarter of an acre in size." sotka, as far as i understand, is one hundredth of a hectar; acre is 0.4 ha. just do the math. |

| В метрической ситеме есть величина "ар" - are (100 м3), что в просторечии называется "сотка". "Ten ares" is a good option. |

| that depends. when u translate a text with imperial measurements in it, do u convert feet into meters and farenheit into celsius? i do, and leave the original measurement in brackets. it only makes sense, if u think about it. |

narc: check math. One quarter of an acre is not equal to 0.01, is it? |
| shanka, check ur own math, 10 sotkas (read the post) is 0.1 ha; 1 acre is 0.4 ha. 0.1 is a quarter of 0.4 do i really need to explain further? |
