This way, the company hopes to `reduce the risk factor` and minimize the possibility of fresh terror attacks in future. The storage of explosives continue to pose a serious threat to NALCO`s (Q,N,C,F)* mines, which had been a target of attack by Maoists last month. NALCO officials have put their heads together and efforts are underway at the aluminum major to step up use of mechanical force to replace explosives used in the bauxite mines at Damanjodi. However, this is likely to bring about a substantial hike in cost of mining in terms of fuel and manpower expense. |
