4. резка пласта - SHEET CUTTING жгуты - STRAPS (по смыслу пласт режут скорее на полосы, чем на жгуты, а потом уже режут на отдельные конфеты) 6. выстойка - SETTLING 8. Forming by: SPREADING, cutting, and enrobing. Вообще, kath, не ленитесь заглядывать в словать . Слова "ирис", "зефир", "помадка" там точно есть. Если в словаре нет какого-то слова, например, "выстойка", подумайте: а что оно означает? Как это можно сказать другим словом? Другой частью речи? "Выстойка" - это когда что-то "выстаивается" или "отстаивается". И почитайте в интернете про кондитерское производство, найдете много интересных слов. |

Susan, I didn't think I needed to explain, I thought this place was for helping people, which is what I try to do as well, when I know something. Also, for some inexplicable reason I had a very hard time getting multitran dictionary to work that day, while forum worked, so asked since was on deadline. Finally, even if I may understand what the word/phrase means, there maybe a very specific industry term for it (professional jargon). And, furthermore, IRIS is in the dictionary but it has two translations: toffee and butterscotch. Since I haven't eaten IRIS, I have no idea which is right. Same goes for Zephir, which is a uniquely Russian food, but I was made to understand it is similar to marshmellow. Thank you for helping though and thank you to everyone else. |
