Tata Consultancy Services Ltd., India's largest outsourcing company, said Friday net profit grew 22.3 percent to 15.20 billion rupees ($296.8 million) thanks to cost cutting and an uptick in business from the United States.
Revenue for the quarter ending June 30 was 72.07 billion rupees ($1.5 billion), up 12.4 percent over the same quarter last year.

"TCS has delivered a stellar quarter," said Chief Executive S. Ramadorai.
Like Infosys, India's second-largest outsourcing company, TCS easily beat analysts' expectations on both profit and revenue, fueling hopes the worst might be over for its global clients.
