Primitive reflexes. "Soft" signs of frontal dysfunction include the so-called primitive reflexes, or frontal release signs. These include prehensile reflexes (grasp responses, traction re-sponses, sucking reflex) (Video Seg-ment 14) and others, such as the glabellar response and the snout response. These are normally present in infants and regress in older children and adults, but they may reappear as a consequence of cerebral damage, es-pecially to the frontal lobes. Unfortu- nately, they are generally not very useful signs in practice because incon-sistent techniques have been used for eliciting these signs and because, with the exception of the grasp response, they are occasionally present in normal adults (Hogan and Ebly, 1995). The presence of multiple primitive reflexes is abnormal and raises a suspicion of frontal lobe pathology, but is rarely the sole or decisive finding. Собственно это все, что этим рефлексам посвящено.
