Sufficient number of monitors will be installed to reach all areas of the process taking into account the fire water system pressure. Some monitors may have to be elevated to reach the upper levels. The monitors will be protected from flammables flowing in the drainage systems. If located closer than 15m (50ft) from the nearest hazard (e.g. process trench) or at elevated level, remote controlled valves and monitors (to control the pan, tilt and NOZZLE PATTERN OF THE MONITOR) are required. Self oscillating remotely operated monitors will be provided for congested areas. Monitors will not be closer than 7.5m (25ft) from the nearest hazard or storage tank dike wall.
