Because of the teratogenicity of isotretinoin, much of the data have been obtained in male volunteers. Also, the effects of age and disease states on the pharmacoldnetics of isotretinoui have not been studied extensively, although the drug is mainly prescribed to young subjects with normal metabolic function.
