Очень прошу Вас посмотреть ещё раз этот топик, но учётом уже Ваших изменений, всё ли теперь правильно:

Although it is usually annoying to come across the glut of advertising in newspapers and magazines and on TV, the impact of the advertising industry on an individual is immense, as advertising plays a very important role in our lives. Even though advertising absorbs vast sums of money, it has its place in the society.

What are the functions of advertising? The first function is to inform (or INFORMATIVE). A lot of information that people have about household devices, cars, building materials, electronic equipment, cosmetics, detergents and food is largely acquired from the advertisements they read or see. Advertisements introduce consumers to new products or remind them of the existing ones.

The second function is to sell. Manufacturers display the products from the most favourable perspective and the potential buyer, after having entered the store, has the unconscious URGE / IMPULSE TO choose the advertised products. Many buy this washing powder or that chewing gum, because the colorful TV commercials convince them of the best qualities of the product. Even cigarettes, or sweets, or alcohol are associated with such values of human life as joy, freedom, love and happiness, and often, just those associations make a person choose the advertised products.

The aim of a good advertisement is to create a consumer demand to buy the advertised product or service. Children is a good example of a specific target group for advertising, as they usually want a particular kind of chocolate, or toy, or chewing gum. Being naive, they cannot judge objectively if information is truthful or exaggerated and therefore select the really good products, unless they buy them and check for themselves.

The third function, since the majority of advertisements are printed in our press we pay less for newspapers and magazines, also TV in most countries in cheap.

The public advertising billboards seen on street hoardings, railway stations and buildings bring the element of joy to people’s life. Moreover, all those classified ads in the newspapers in the Employment, Education, For Sale and Wanted columns can help ordinary people find better jobs or a better employees, as well as sell or buy used items and find services, or learn about educational programs, social events such as, concerts, theatre plays, football games, and to announce births, marriages and deaths. Thus, despite our dissatisfaction when being bombarded by all the advertisers’ information we must admit that they do perform a useful service to society, and advertisements are an essential part of our everyday life.

Если я добавлю к первому абзацу ещё пару предложений, будут ли они гармонировать здесь?

ИМХО
1) я бы в первом параграфе убрала одно and:
Although it is usually annoying to come across the glut of advertising in newspapers and magazines and on TV;
2) там где the third function ведь у Вас было thirdly?
Пельмень, имеется в виду функция рекламы или что-то другое? Тут явно несоответствие. Если как у sledopyt, тогда it makes sense, а если как у Вас, в смысле the third function - тогда звучит не очень.
А что означает in cheap?
3) Пельмень, Вы артикль *a* уберите в последнем параграфе:
can help ordinary people find better jobs or a better employees.

Для меня это предложение doesn't make sense.
Объясните мне, я попытаюсь помочь. В том, что мы меньше платим за ...?

Я думаю, что мы меньше платим за ТВ, и журналы, в кот. есть реклама, она ведь оказывает "спонсорскую помощь" телеканалам и за журналы мы платим меньше, ведь реклама, кот. в них содержиться "покрывает" какую-то часть их стоимости.

Ещё вопрос: есть ли смысл исправлять это:

Вы откуда это взяли? Они звучат нормально (имхо), в принципе общему смыслу текста не противоречат.
Что же всё-таки здесь in cheap?

Я имею в виду, что этот кусок можно вставить в текст, он не противоречит смыслу.
Thirdly лучше.
Мне не нравится in cheap.

Тут не столь важно to inform or informative. Возьмите To inform.
Пельмень, ну хоть убейте, при чём здесь in cheap? Как оно по структуре сюда вписывается? Глагол-то, глагол-то где? Я просто боюсь, что не уловила Вашу мысль. Дайте русский перевод этого предложения, пожалуйста.

Я придерживаюсь того же мнения.
Но в целом эта функция рекламы может иметь место быть. Наверняка сказать сложно.
