Выражение встречается в следующем контексте:

I think this is actually a spiral blade for transtrochanteric entry related to hip prostheses. I'm not sure what Russian would use for blade, but it might be лезвие, so trochanter spiral [blade] would be вертельное спиральное лезвие. Have a look at http://www.wheelessonline.com/ortho/spiral_blade which might help.

yes it seems so. The photo looks like it and the technique of insertion is very similar to what I have described here. Thanks for the link, fianlamb. I would really appreciate the confirmation from the Russian specialists but your comment did help.
