This just means they were totally naked, and it has a folksy/rural overtone. Thus some one sitting around a campfire in Podunk, Kentucky can be "buck-naked", someone in New York is just naked, or "stark naked" unless beheld by by an astonished resident of Podunk, Kentudy, who may perceive them as "buck-naked". tfennell |
