The controller starts automatically when power is supplied. There are
usually 3 programs in the controller memory. Immediately after starting, the boot software review is displayed (with a string type "boot ver x.xx"), then the program goes on by testing the validity of the two main programs; if either program is wrong, once the test is over, a quick error message will be displayed. At the end of both tests the system starts the main program. If none of the main programs is present, the boot software stops waiting for loading a new main program over the serial line or an iButton (see "software updating section"). If, on the other hand, both main programs are present, the boot software launches the one with the higher review number.
When booting the main program, the string "ver nn.nn xx.xx" is displayed where nn.nn is a number identifying the software version (for any personalisation depending on the customer) and xx.xx is the review number.
