guard on a break? i am not entirely sure that i understand the original - is it someone who is between shifts but on duty or someone who's got a day off? off-duty guard, in my mind, suggests a guard who has a day off. resting guard sounds like he can still be on duty, but slacking off. i think that a whole sentence would help. |

I work 7/7. 7 days on, 7 days off. 7 days off are called "off duty". Off duty security shift would be OK. |
| Караул может дежурить сутки, в течение которых, например, час на посту, а потом час в караулке отогреваться и отдыхать. Так вот о таком отдыхе и речь - guard-on-break, off-sentinel guards. |
