Понятно, что там что-то понижается, уменьшается в объёме, сжимается и т.п. Но что?

Один мой коллега предположил, что это некие "технологические потери" или "потери при сепарации". Насчёт сепарации я не уверен, просто потому что не понимаю, какая сепарация может быть при изготовлении углекомпозитов или изделий из них.

Пока что "технологические потери" кажутся наиболее общим и потому наиболее подходящим термином

Previous studies show that quality of service is a leading driver of customer satisfaction, but there is scanty information as to why this is so. Based on reviewed literature we propose two properties of the primary quality drivers. The first is a Knock Down effect, that is, the ability to cause instant annoyance and disappointment when performance is below expectation. Не настаиваю, но поделюсь версией. Цитата ясно дает понять, что продукция разнообразна. Возможно, что the process - это переключение с одного вида продукции на другой, которое занимает время. Тут и возникают  knock-down effects.

Если верить данным одного закрытого обзора, из-за того, что большинство производителей УВ делают разные ассортименты на одном оборудовании коэффициент использования мощностей получается очень невысоким. Кроме того, спрос быстрее рос в сегменте топовых волокон/ровингов, технологиями которых обладают только США и Япония, которые не лицензируют их (а кроме того, сами такие волокна/ровинги подпадают под экспортные ограничения), что заставляет производителей, в частности Китай, вести собственные разработки.

Поэтому, ИМХО, здесь речь может идти и о СДЕРЖИВАЮЩИХ (рост производства) ФАКТОРАХ.

УВ делаются отжигом ПАН-волокон, при котором происходит частичная потеря массы (всё кроме углерода выжигается). Поэтому если оценивать выпуск от производительности ПО СЫРЬЮ, то в зависимости от марок выпускаемых УВ она будет различаться....

Потери - по сути верно, но не совсем точно по смыслу.. Правильнее — различный выход разных ассортиментов

The study is deployed in two levels. The first level covers the assessment of the performance change due to the introduction of the healing agent in the reference CFRP system. It is possible that the approach to introduce the healing functionality may jeopardize the load-bearing capacity of the composite. This change in performance is commonly referred to as the knock-down effect. The second level of this study deals with the healing functionality of the composite system and its performance.
