есть такие значения poll, как:
поимённое голосование по принципу "одна акция - один голос"
голосование по бюллетеням (в отличие от поднятия рук)

poll как опрос говорит о возможности какого-то голосования уровнем ниже, чем voting

Now and then, we "call for a vote on..." some subject -- a "voting"
application would be perfect. Yes, I know you have a "poll" app in
the works, and this would be very similar (in fact, it might just be
an "option" for the poll app) however when "voting" vs. "polling", the
results should not be revealed until all members have voted or the
president has closed the vote -- this will help prevent any "bias"
from seeing what way the vote is going.

Also, and this probably applies more to Board-of-director type groups
than any other, there should be an option for whether or not the vote
is "anonymous". [and for BOD type groups, generally the vote should
not be anonymous...]
