Subject: создавать новые раб. места Подскажите, как лучше перевести фразу:.... инвестировала в российскую экономику свыше 200 млн. долларов, создав более 1500 рабочих мест. Просто created over 1500 new jobs - так дает мультитран - но это, получается, что создаются новые виды "работ"? Мне этот вариант не нравится Спасибо! |

create new jobs - отлично, что Вам не нравится? to make something exist that did not exist before: |
Я нашла два вариант - кажется, они более подойдут - create new job positions/opportunities ... Спасибо!.. |
Ничего не имею против предложенных Вами вариантов. Но я тоже упрямый, ничуть не меньше Вашего. Лучший (т.е наиболее точный) перевод на английский фразы создавать новые раб. места Вы найдете здесь. http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=%22create+new+jobs%22&meta= Удержите с меня ползарплаты, если это не так. |
"Create jobs" usually means creating new positions. I would not worry about the other meaning. When you mean "создавать новые виды работ", you would usually say "create new projects", not jobs. |
U r not right, even though it's your mother tongue. The phrase "create new jobs" works, it conveys the full meaning of the Russian phrase. http://www.reference.com/search?q="create new jobs"&db=web |
2 Foxtrot: that is exactly what I am trying to say. My comment was in response to the asker's doubt expressed in the original questions: "но это, получается, что создаются новые виды "работ"? " I agree with you 100 percent: "create (new) jobs" is exactly what "the doctor ordered here." :) |
Sorry, i totally misunderstood u. I wish could see your point from the start. |
foxtrot: No problem. I actually think I didn't make it clear enough to whose comment I was responding.... |
Someone asked me next door what makes professionals go. Doubting Thomas replies. Or self-replying doubting Thomas askers :-) Fox, if you 'create' something, it's got to be new. |
Примите мою глубочайшую благодарность за столь подробный и четкий ответ - всем, кто написал! |
but I do in English ... So what, assuming u r right without the benefit of doubt. But thousands people use it, be it in daily life, newspapers or TV it is a set expression. http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q="create+new+jobs"&meta= I suspect u r trying to be clever which I don't mind at all. |
not clever, bro--short. :-) |
sonny, better say Set phrase/typical word combination/collocation but not "set expression" :-) |
"set expression" - Moscow English, sorry it can't be helped sometimes:) |
