Subject: Помогите, пожалуйста, с транскриптом для видео gen. Всем доброго времени суток!Помогите, пожалуйста, с транскриптом для видео о кражах кабеля в Южной Африке https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WbAYfC0IOB0 00:47 As you and I sit here running there is ??? there is no piece of infrastructure nor .. into this .. 02:51 Watch as these men cut out cables with a hacksaw at a substation in a ...? 3:34 Process Central Cape Town line runs through 03:50 "We've got the central line itself has been overtaken I mean ?? by thieves?? 03:57 All the gang didn't have guns. They come with a gun, with a knife and ??? then a spade or actual ??? И еще вопрос: как и во сколько оценить работу по правке субтитров на английском для последующего перевода? Заранее большое спасибо! |
там по-моему на Process, а "crosses" |
Хрен его знает, но в первом приближении: there is no piece of infrastructure nor planning into this they come with a gun, with a knife and then they spy to action |

00:47 - nor (planning? going???) into this 02:51 - Ekurhuleni [=name of a city – Экурхулени] in Gauteng [=a province of South Africa – Гаутенг/Хаутенг] 03:34 - PRASA's [=Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa] 03:50 - [It] has been overtaken by thugs. 03:57 - and then a spade or hacksaw [He's got a strong Afrikaaner accent] |

Correction: Ekurhuleni is officially a municipality rather than a city: http://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/Экурхулени |
Что-то удалось ещё разобрать со станцией: at a substation in the Kuruleni in Gauteng (Gauteng is a small province in South Africa, pronounced 'howteng' with a gutteral back of the throat clearing for the 'g') *** |
ОГРОМНОЕ СПАСИБО! |

The Afrikaner English accent can be quite difficult to understand if you're not used to it, because it's a very nasal accent – Afrikaners tend to talk as though they've got a clothes peg on their nose. For this reason Mr (Van den Berg?), the man in the yellow vest (3:26 onwards and 3:57 onwards) |
2 johnstephenson Спасибо огромное за ваши комментарии! |
** and then a spade or hacksaw > and then they spy to action ** Да уж, тут "Шизгара" тихо писает в углу :-))) |
Thanx to everyone, especially 2 johnstephenson! I appreciate your help and explanation! Please, could you clear up a few more moments, where people are talking with strong Afrikaaner accent? Dave Pieters, Ballistic expert, forensic lab Herman Van Den Berg, combined private investigations I cannot understand the reporter's question 09:09 Talking about 600-700 rand. For this little bit ???? of paper standing here. And that this is the scrap dealer price. 10:51 You must show them progress. If there's ??? arrest might ??? you must go back to the community, tell them about it providing with feedback on a court case and showed them there's a sentence outside because they cannot see the member in a community again 12:04 When we do not have our basic services running on any given day country loses millions regardless of what ???? sect it is in.?? |
"06:25 It's now just a matter of lining everything up " - по-моему там про "aligning" - он там совмещает изображения |
regardless of what sect it is in ... м.б. sect - "sector" |
johnstephenson, please.... |

You've got 95% of it. The ballistics expert and Mr Van Den Berg both have strong Afrikaner accents, so you've not chosen the easiest of clips to transcribe! Dave 07:15 In the past 08:05 If you have [meaning 'If there is' here] a solar panel, they 08:35 But do they try to 09:09 [You're] Talking about ['You're talking about ....' = colloquial for 'It's approximately ....'] 600-700 rand. For this little bit of 10:51 You must show them progress [ie, you must show members of the community that progress is being made arresting/charging the criminal(s) and bringing them to court]. If there's an arrest made you must go back to the community, tell them about it, 12:04 When we do not have our basic services running on any given day [the] country loses millions regardless of what |
Thank you so much! |
В эпизоде 06:25 может быть: It's now just a matter of lining everything up with the dividing line in the middle. И далее: the bolt cutter that I used to cut the test with [возможно, здесь the test -- тестовый образец?] |
Да, я тоже склоняюсь к test with, как тестовый образец. Спасибо |

Rus_Land: dividing line: Yes! It sounds more like 'diliding', but that's probably just his strong accent. It makes sense here because if you stop the clip at exactly 06:25 and look very closely at the front of that device the man's looking into, it has a label on the front saying 'Discovery'. That label is in fact this one: It's a type of comparison microscope called the 'Discovery' Firearms & Tool Marks Comparison Microscope, made by Leeds Forensic Systems. Apparently it's used for 'striation matching' / 'striation analysis', which also forms part of 'forensic firearm(s) examination'. If you then search for the user manual for this microscope – http://docplayer.net/46440638-Firearms-tool-marks-comparison-microscope-discovery.html – it refers once (in para 3) to the line down the middle of the screen as being the 'dividing line'. So you're quite right. test: He could be using 'test', I suppose. If so, he probably means 'test piece' / 'test sample'. |
Там и в самом видео видна эта срединная линия, разделяющая экран монитора на две части. |

OFF - for interest only If anyone wants to hear a list of English words spoken with an Afrikaner accent – or should that be 'egzent'...? – see this (quite amusing) clip (2:58 mins): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCLRHWfQqxk 0:05 0:15 0:42 0:48 1:18 1:34 2:52 You get the idea.... |
