Subject: The Published explained that the notary public in the current certification by the concerned matter is not active or has been active. law
Добрый день, дорогие коллеги! Еще просьба перевести одно предложение. Черновой вариант не могу приложить, т.к. получается набор слов какой-то.

Контекст:
This is to certify, that the above signature of
Mr. Dr. Torsten Gerkensmeier, Date of Birth 02nd February 1971, business address Anton-Flettner-Str. 1-3, 27472 Cuxhaven, Germany, personally known to me,
done before me.
The Published explained that the notary public in the current certification by the concerned matter is not active or has been active.

Cuxhaven, 3 of March, 2017
СПАСИБО!

The Published - это так немцы перевели Der Erschienene (одно из значений erscheinen - "выходить" в смысле "быть опубликованным"), т.е. обратившееся к нотариусу лицо

Also,
* 'by the concerned matter' isn't English.
* 'to certify, that' => 'to certify that'.
* '(a signature) done by me' is strange English -- unless 'to do a signature' is a term used only in English legalese.

Looks like a translation into English, possibly from Russian/German.

.... but if you needed to срочно давать it 2-3 days ago, this is probably of academic interest!

по всему же видно, что немцы писали (Cuxhaven, Germany и прочее). зачем же придумывать "possibly from Russian"? а потом тут оффы километровые по поводу отношения нейтивов к рунглишу и его носителям. аккуратнее надо, профессор!

Well, I did say "possibly from Russian/German", not "definitely from Russian only, no other language possible, don't argue with me or I'll kill you"!

** зачем же придумывать "possibly from Russian"? **

Because constructions such as 'the concerned matter' (instead of 'the matter concerned') and putting a comma before 'that' when there shouldn't be one -- as in ', что' as well as in ', dass' -- are also very typical of Runglish. And just because a document was originally German, doesn't mean that it must have been translated directly from German to English, does it? It could have been translated via a third language, as often happens.

It may have been translated directly from German to English as you say -- I don't know without knowing its history -- but the important thing is that the English in it, for whatever reason, isn't very good. And given that the asker сдал(а) the translation 2-3 days ago it's a bit academic, isn't it?

Signed

но вы же сами написали: possibly from [...] German, следовательно, вы, когда упоминали и немецкий, предполагали, что перечисленные вами ошибки are also very typical of Denglish (это необходимо допустить по аналогии с предпринятой вами реконструкцией рунглиша). в таком случае я не понимаю, зачем плодить сущности, если всё (а именно: происхождение документа и типичность ошибок для дэнглиша) указывает на то, что это был не рунглиш, а скорее дэнглиш. чтоб уж совсем ясно было: вот если бы нотариус, изготовивший эту бумагу, базировался в Москве, пришло бы вам в голову написать possibly from [...] German?

No, I didn't -- I said "possibly Russian/German", which means 'possibly Russian or possibly German'. It doesn't exclude other languages at all; quite the opposite -- see my previous posting! I've no idea which language it's from. It could be from any language in the world that has the characteristics I mentioned. I was simply saying that Russian and German were two languages I could think of that it might have been translated from, for the reasons I've given.

** вы знаток особенностей всяческих "-глишей" **

No, I'm not! To be this I'd have to know almost every language in the world. I simply know a handful of them. German isn't even one of them, but I do have very basic German (learnt at school) and know that 'dass', like 'что', is usually preceded by a comma in constructions such as this.

In both of the above cases you're disputing something I didn't say!

Джон, вы, оказывается, по-русски не понимаете. сорри, не писал бы, если б знал

No, my Russian isn't as good as yours, but I understood your comments perfectly well. I think that in this case it's you who misread my English when I wrote "possibly Russian/German". Anyway, this is all irrelevant, as the translation is now сдан, so I'm going to end this (rather daft) conversation.

если бы вы прекрасно поняли мой комментарий, то не написали бы No, I didn't и No, I'm not!

OK, I'll take your word for it. It looks as though my Russian has let me down, so my apologies.
