А смысл не близок к "[вполне] ожидаемо"? Т.е. очевидно? Или "как и предполагалось"? |

а к чему здесь "как ожидается"? "как ожидается" в контекст "discriminatory barriers" включают "entry requirements" не монтируется)))) "[вполне] очевидно" пожалуй подойдет - спасибо! |

'As anticipated' can mean either of two things: * i) It usually means that someone [in the past] expected something to happen, and it subsequently happened as they expected; * ii) However, occasionally some writers use it to mean that someone [currently] expects something to happen [in the future]. In the passage you've cited, ii) above seems to apply as the events listed haven't yet taken place. So it's the same as saying 'It's expected that ......'. |

johnstephenson, thank you for explanation however, 'As anticipated' in its usual meaning 'Как ожидается' is a bad choice in the given context of 'policymakers considering investment entry requirements', as we are not dealing with a meeting agenda where they possibly will consider (or not) some issues :)) the author of the text is a Japanese national and often uses certain terms in an unusual way, there are some examples an my previous posts. ('to mitigate' as 'to balance', 'resource expropriator' when the context implies the meaning 'extraction/development', ect. the text is kind of a puzzle sometimes))))))))))) |
